Srinagar, Nov 11 (NationPress) A day after the tragic explosion in Delhi, the families and relatives of Kashmiri individuals associated with the incident have expressed total ignorance regarding the alleged involvement of these white collar terrorists in criminal activities.

Dr Mohd Umar, who reportedly perished in the blast when his i20 car detonated near the Red Fort, hailed from an underprivileged family in Koil village, Pulwama district.

Umar’s mother, Shamima, along with his two brothers, Zahoor and Ashiq, have been taken into custody for interrogation and DNA matching. It is believed that Dr Umar executed the suicide blast, possibly in a state of panic following the arrest of his associates, Dr Muzamil and Dr Adil.

Residents of Koil village described Mohd Umar as a diligent and studious individual who displayed no inclination towards terrorism, though he maintained strong religious beliefs from a young age.

Umar’s father suffers from mental challenges and lost his government teaching position due to his condition.

According to neighbors, the family felt their hardships had lessened after Umar secured employment following his graduation from the esteemed Government Medical College (GMC) in Srinagar.

Dr Umar had achieved admission to the medical college based on merit.

Another individual implicated in this terror scheme, Dr Muzamil, also originates from Koil village. His father, Ashiq, is a prosperous orchard owner, and the family enjoys a comfortable lifestyle.

Muzamil’s sister, Asmat, has also completed her MBBS, while his brother, Azad, is preparing for the NEET examination to enter medical school.

Family members expressed disbelief regarding Muzamil’s alleged involvement in the terror module.

“He was a passionate supporter of the Indian cricket team during matches against Pakistan. He had no reasons to be swayed by terrorism, coming from a well-off family, and we envisioned a bright future for him in the medical field,” remarked Muzamil’s sister and brother to reporters on Tuesday.

Unnamed neighbors indicated that Muzamil, who graduated from Batra Medical College in Jammu, also had pronounced religious convictions in his youth.

Intelligence agencies have confirmed that Dr Mohd Umar was alone in the i20 car when it detonated near the Red Fort.

The J&K Police and Haryana Police, collaborating effectively on Monday, seized 2900 kg of ammonium nitrate, an assault rifle, a pistol, timer devices, and other materials from Muzamil's rented accommodation in Faridabad, Haryana.

The arrest of Dr Adil in October for disseminating Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) posters led to the revelation of the entire terror module.

An assault rifle was located in Adil’s locker at the Government Medical College in Anantnag, where he worked until October 2024.

Ongoing raids are being conducted in the Valley and Faridabad to apprehend other individuals linked to the white collar terror module.

Intelligence agencies assert that this module was plotting retaliation for the deaths of family members of JeM founder, Azhar Masood, during Operation Sindoor.
