Mumbai, Nov 11 (NationPress) The legendary Bollywood icon Dharmendra, renowned for his exceptional acting and admirable character, is also cherished for his distinctive dancing abilities.

Despite a few quirky dance moves that have become fan favorites over the years, he, along with his elder son Sunny, has often been labeled as a ‘non-dancing star’ by fans and industry insiders.

In a nostalgic interview with Lehren India, Dharmendra shared his desire for his younger son Bobby Deol to break free from the ‘Deols can’t dance’ stereotype. “Bobby is an excellent dancer,” the proud father stated. “I have encouraged him to shake off the label of ‘Deol’s don’t dance’, and he has truly excelled at it,” he remarked, emphasizing Bobby’s superior dancing skills compared to himself and Sunny.

Discussing Bobby’s debut film, Barsaat, Dharmendra expressed his frustration over the prolonged release. “I was anxious when Barsaat took forever to hit the screens. There were numerous issues regarding the story, screenplay, and more. However, now that the movie is finally out, it all seems worthwhile. Bobby and Twinkle have delivered stellar performances that don’t reflect a debut,” he mentioned.

Additionally, he expressed immense pride in Sunny for achieving success through his own dedication and effort. He highlighted that both his sons, Sunny and Bobby, embody the spirit of a fighter, just like him. “I am a fighter, and likewise, my son Sunny is a fighter too, as is Bobby. The word 'win' holds a beautiful significance for me,” he stated.

He further added, “They (Sunny and Bobby) must first overcome the notion of being star kids, which I know is a challenging task. Nonetheless, I am proud that Sunny has accomplished that and earned awards through his own merit.” During the interview, Sunny’s son Karan Deol, who was a young boy at that time, was seen sitting on his grandfather’s lap.

As of 2025, reports indicate that Dharmendra has been placed on a ventilator. On November 11th, his daughter Esha Deol requested privacy for the family, urging the media to refrain from prematurely announcing any news regarding the actor until the family provides confirmation. Professionally, the 89-year-old was last featured in the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024.

He is now gearing up for his next project, titled 'Ikkis', directed by the acclaimed Sriram Raghavan. The superstar boasts a legacy of blockbuster hits including Sholay (1975), Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966), Chupke Chupke (1975), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Dharam Veer (1977), The Burning Train (1980), and many others.
