Mumbai, Nov 13 (NationPress) Actress Aaditi Pohankar, who is preparing for the launch of her latest streaming series ‘Ziddi Ishq’, has revealed her strategies for maintaining her mental and emotional well-being while taking on a challenging role.
The series delves into the duality of love—how it can both heal and harm, and how obsession can morph into revenge, turning grief into resilience. It’s a narrative where every emotion is more profound than the last, and every decision carries a consequence.
Reflecting on her approach to handling demanding roles, Aaditi stated, “As an actor, during the performance, I remind myself that it’s not me, it’s a different life, so I just observe it. It’s like forming a bond with a certain detachment. Eventually, when you release it, you feel a significant emotional impact. You’ve nurtured it, and then you just have to let it go. It’s akin to giving away your own child.”
The cast also includes Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Sumeet Vyaas, Barkha Bisht, and Riya Sen. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Bengal, it follows Mehul, a young woman whose unreciprocated love for Shekhar Da turns her life upside down after his unexpected death, labeled as suicide, propelling her into an unyielding pursuit of truth and retribution.
Aaditi continued, “It’s crucial to understand from the outset that emotional detachment is necessary, even while you’re deeply embodying emotions. It was enjoyable when Mehul was a schoolgirl, but it became heart-wrenching as her life began to unravel. I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions—joy, innocence, pain, and loss—and yes, it does take a toll on your emotional health for a time. However, you must learn to bounce back.”
“We filmed in Kolkata, and returning to Mumbai significantly aided my ability to detach and regain my balance,” she added.
‘Ziddi Ishq’ is set to debut on November 21 on JioHotstar.
