Mumbai, Nov 7 (NationPress) The creators of “Ziddi Ishq” presented the trailer of their upcoming captivating narrative centered on love, passion, and obsession this Friday. Actor Sumeet Vyas expressed that he was intrigued by this romantic-revenge drama series because it explores love and desire through a more shadowy and unsettling perspective.

Sumeet Vyas stated: “There’s something about love stories that always draws me in. Ziddi Ishq fascinated me because it looks at love and desire through a darker, more unsettling lens.”

He further explained: “I portray a powerful business mogul who exudes charm, control, and authority on the surface, but there's much more beneath. I’ve played complex characters before, but this one is distinct due to his conflicted and unpredictable nature. The authenticity in the writing makes Ziddi Ishq so compelling.”

This series, featuring Aaditi Pohankar, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Barkha Bisht, Sumeet Vyas, and Riya Sen, is scheduled to premiere on November 21 on JioHotstar.

Regarding his character, Parambrata Chattopadhyay mentioned: “Shekhar is a man motivated by love yet ensnared by his own emotions. He is multifaceted and possesses the purest intentions - that’s what attracted me to him. He's neither a hero nor a villain, just profoundly human, grappling with his decisions.”

“What I found fascinating about Ziddi Ishq is its depiction of love as both beautiful and destructive, a force capable of healing or completely breaking you. It’s a narrative about how passion, when it transcends boundaries, can morph into something darker. I eagerly await audiences to engage with this intense universe we’ve crafted.”

Set against the evocative backdrop of Bengal, Ziddi Ishq follows Mehul, a young Bengali woman deeply infatuated with Shekhar Da. When Shekhar’s death is brushed off as a mere suicide, what starts as heartbreak quickly turns into a relentless quest for truth and vengeance. However, the path to discovery is fraught with peril.

As the distinctions blur between devotion and madness, those around her — including Riya (Barkha Bisht), Siddhant (Sumeet Vyas), and Naina (Riya Sen) — become ensnared in a web of secrets, betrayal, and intense yearnings.

The show is both created and directed by Raj Chakraborty.

Aaditi Pohankar expressed that Ziddi Ishq represents a journey she experienced through her character Mehul.

“Mehul is a woman who loves and battles without fear. Despite being one-sided, her affection for Shekhar Da is pure and unwavering. Her emotions drive her, sometimes to her own detriment. Portraying her meant confronting the messy, complex aspects of love, passion, denial, obsession, and resilience. She’s not flawless, but she’s painfully real, and that’s what makes her special to me.”

Working alongside Raj Chakraborty was an incredibly liberating experience for Aaditi.
