New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had a meeting with former Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani at her residence in the capital on Tuesday.

In a post on her official X account, the Delhi CM expressed, "Today I paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed former Union Minister of our nation, @smritiirani ji at her residence, and I am truly touched by the kindness and affection of Honourable Smriti Irani ji."

On Monday, the Delhi Chief Minister, along with her Cabinet, took the oath as members of the Legislative Assembly.

The inaugural session of the House kicked off on Monday morning, featuring all newly-elected legislators taking their oaths.

Among those who took the oath alongside Delhi’s CM were BJP Ministers including Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, Ravinder Singh Indraj, Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

AAP's 22 MLAs, inclusive of the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Atishi, also took their oaths during this initial session.

Rekha Gupta was sworn in as Delhi's Chief Minister on February 20 at a lavish ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan.

This swearing-in marked the BJP's return after 27 years and was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and various Chief Ministers from BJP-led states.

This occasion was not just a political landmark but also a demonstration of strength for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

With her appointment, Rekha Gupta has become the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi, following Sheila Dikshit, Sushma Swaraj, and Atishi.

She is also the fourth BJP leader to assume this prestigious role in the capital, succeeding Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma, and Sushma Swaraj.

On Saturday, the Delhi Chief Minister met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, while her Cabinet ministers began inspecting the repair of potholed roads and assessing pending projects throughout the city.

During her meeting with PM Modi, CM Gupta expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Chief Minister, referring to herself as a "daughter of Delhi," as reported by one of her aides.

Before heading to the PM’s residence, CM Gupta greeted supporters from her home’s first-floor balcony in Shalimar Bagh.

Using a public address system, she declared that upon meeting PM Modi, she would convey, on behalf of all women and daughters from the city, appreciation for selecting a “Daughter of Delhi” to represent the city.
