Amritsar/New Delhi, Dec 8 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her Cabinet Ministers, made a spiritual journey to the revered city of Amritsar on Monday, where they offered prayers for the welfare of the local populace, as stated by an official.

“It is through the Guru’s immense grace that we have been bestowed the chance to serve the people of Delhi,” she remarked while bowing at Sri Harmandir Sahib and expressing her gratitude at Darbar Sahib.

The Chief Minister is convinced that it was purely due to the Guru’s blessings that her administration successfully hosted the three-day ‘Gurmat Samagam’ last month in the historic Red Fort lawns, marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, as noted in the statement.

The event attracted millions of devotees who came to pay their respects to Guru Sahib and participated in various activities, including Gurbani Kirtan and Sankirtan.

During this sacred visit, the Chief Minister also paid homage at the Durgiana Temple and the Valmiki Temple, offering prayers for the nation's prosperity and the welfare of the residents of Delhi.

Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that the three-day ‘Gurmat Samagam’, which took place from November 23 to 25 at the Red Fort, has emerged as one of the most remarkable and historic religious congregations in Independent India.

The event, co-hosted by the Delhi Government and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, saw an extraordinary participation of six lakh devotees, setting a new record.

She expressed gratitude, stating that with the Guru’s grace, the entire program was executed peacefully and beautifully, without any incidents. “This is why I have come to Sri Harmandir Sahib today with my full Cabinet to express my thanks at the feet of Guru Sahib,” she added.

The Chief Minister also declared that the Delhi Government will arrange various events throughout the upcoming year to honor the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Plans are underway to publish special books that will convey Guru Sahib’s teachings and the story of his sacrifice to schoolchildren, she noted.

She remarked that governments and institutions across the nation are commemorating Guru Sahib’s birth and martyrdom anniversaries with profound devotion.

All these endeavors, she stated, serve as a means to spread the universal teachings of Guru Sahib. She further stressed that her visit to Harmandir Sahib is not merely a formality for her and her government but a demonstration of deep respect, gratitude, and devotion to the Guru tradition.

Describing her visit to the sacred city of Amritsar as a deeply spiritual experience, she noted that Amritsar is truly a city of faith and divine energy.

Expressing her appreciation for the warmth and hospitality shown by the residents of Amritsar, the Chief Minister stated that their affection and blessings are her greatest support.

She expressed hope that the Guru’s grace continues to shine upon everyone. Motivated by this spiritual energy and public backing, she voiced her confidence that the Delhi government will persist in serving the populace with commitment and enhance public welfare initiatives in the future.
