New Delhi, April 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, reaffirmed her administration’s dedication to fostering job opportunities in rural regions on Sunday. She pledged the prompt completion of nearly 600 overdue development initiatives, which encompass enhancements to roads and the expansion of cooking gas pipelines in villages.
Furthermore, she indicated her government's readiness to engage in discussions to address concerns affecting villagers, such as land circle rates, tractors, and alternate plots in land acquisition cases.
During her visit to the Kanjhawala area in North West Delhi, CM Gupta mentioned the establishment of an education hub and an ISBT in rural locales, aimed at creating additional employment and opportunities for local residents.
Emphasizing the allocation of Rs 1,157 crore in the Delhi Budget for 2025-26 specifically for village and farmer welfare, she stated, "The Delhi Government is diligently working towards enhancing the infrastructure of villages, including roads and drainage systems."
"We are also strategizing to spur employment in rural areas. In Narela, we are creating an education hub, along with other initiatives like the ISBT that will be operational in these regions," she added.
CM Gupta also highlighted recent developments, noting that 110 villages have been connected to a cooking gas pipeline, with plans to extend this service to additional villages.
Referring to a recent road inauguration in a village, she asserted that the Delhi government is systematically working to finalize 600 development projects that are pending in rural areas.
In her presentation of the 2025-26 budget last month, CM Gupta allocated Rs 4.85 crore for farmers under the 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi - State Top-up Scheme', which will provide farmers with Rs 3,000 annually (disbursed in three installments of Rs 1,000) in addition to the Rs 6,000 annual support from the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi' scheme.
Earlier that day, the CM paid her respects at the Devi Maa temple in Kanjhawala and engaged in 'Gau Seva' at the Gramin Gaushala in Bawana.
