New Delhi, Sep 30 (NationPress) The Delhi government has announced a day of state mourning on Wednesday in light of the passing of BJP leader and the inaugural Chief Executive Councillor of Delhi, Vijay Kumar Malhotra, as confirmed by an official.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conveyed her condolences, referring to his departure as a profound and irreplaceable loss.
CM Gupta stated that the state administration would ensure that his final rites are performed with full honours, according to an official announcement.
Today, the Chief Minister visited his home to pay her respects to Professor Malhotra, who was also the first President of Delhi BJP, and reiterated that his passing represents a significant and irreplaceable loss.
She noted that Professor Malhotra, who also held the position of Member of Parliament and served as a legislator in Delhi, was a key figure in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and the BJP.
He not only influenced the political landscape of Delhi but also established new benchmarks in public service, earning recognition as a genuine servant of the community, she remarked.

Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and former President Ram Nath Kovind visited his residence to pay their respects and extend condolences to the family.
