This revision took place from June 24 to September 30, 2025, during which approximately 65 lakh names were deleted from the draft rolls, which initially listed 7.89 crore electors as of June 24, 2025.
As of the draft list dated August 1, 2025, the number of voters was 7.24 crore. The draft saw the addition of 21.53 lakh new voters under Form-6, with 3.66 lakh ineligible entries removed from the final tally.
Upon the release of the final electoral roll on September 30, the total number of voters is now 7.42 crore.
The Election Commission acknowledged that this extensive initiative was achieved through the dedicated efforts of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar, District Election Officers (DEOs) across all 38 districts, 243 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 2,976 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), approximately 1 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), numerous volunteers, and active participation from all 12 major Political Parties, including their district leaders and over 1.6 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by them.
The Commission also mentioned that, "Any eligible individual who wishes to have their name included in the electoral roll can file an application up to ten days before the deadline for nomination submissions for the election."
Moreover, individuals can file appeals against electoral roll decisions under Section 24 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, initially with the District Magistrate and subsequently with the CEO.
The Commission commended the media for their crucial role in promoting awareness and maintaining transparency during the revision process.
