Patna, Sep 30 (NationPress) In light of the Election Commission of India’s release of Bihar’s final voter list as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025, district presidents and representatives from key political parties gathered on Tuesday evening to obtain both hard and digital copies of the revised electoral rolls.
District Election Officers (DEOs) organized meetings statewide to distribute the finalized information and respond to any inquiries from party officials.
In Sitamarhi, RJD district president Gauhar Shamim confirmed that the draft roll dated August 1, 2025, showed 23,22,171 voters, which has now been revised to 24,49,659 following the final publication.
Nayaz Ahmed Siddiqui, district secretary of CPI-ML, verified these figures and praised the transparent method.
During a meeting in Gaya, CPI-ML district secretary Niranjan Kumar stated that the DEO provided the final voter lists for all 10 assembly constituencies.
Samir Anwar Khan, district vice-president of the Indian National Congress, shared detailed demographics, reporting 15,63,126 male voters, 14,06,273 female voters, and 36 other voters in Gaya.
A similar assessment took place at the Bhojpur DEO office, attended by representatives from RJD, CPI-ML, JDU, and Congress.
Manmohan Kumar alias Mantu Sharma, RJD district vice-president, noted that the final list encompasses all seven assembly constituencies. Dildar Kirat, CPI-ML office secretary, obtained both hard and soft copies of the voter roll from the DEO office in Ara, Bhojpur's district headquarters.
Shambhu Prasad Soni, JDU district spokesperson, and Virendra Mishra, Congress media in-charge, commended the DEO and deputy election officers for conducting an error-free, transparent, and trustworthy process.
In Banka, RJD district president Upul Prasad Thakur confirmed the receipt of the updated voter rolls and expressed appreciation towards the DEO and electoral staff.
“We are grateful to all EROs and BLOs for their efforts after the final publication of an error-free and reliable voter list,” stated Thakur.
The final Bihar voter list now accounts for 7.42 crore voters, increasing from 7.24 crore in the August draft, with 21.53 lakh names added and 3.66 lakh names removed across the state.
The SIR process, overseen by the Supreme Court, was initiated to eliminate duplicates and incorporate eligible voters ahead of the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections.
