New Delhi, Aug 1 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India has officially released the draft voter list as part of the Special Intensive Revision-2025 in Bihar. Alongside this, an awareness campaign has been launched, encouraging both voters and political parties to collaborate in ensuring 100% accuracy in the final list.
The ECI has made available both hard and soft copies of the draft voter list, excluding photographs, to all political parties for review. They are invited to suggest names for inclusion or removal, according to an official source.
In informative pamphlets distributed to voters, the ECI stated, “All voters in Bihar are hereby notified that the draft voter list under Special Intensive Revision-2025 was published on August 1, 2025.”
The Chief Electoral Officer for Bihar has also announced that special camps will commence from Saturday at all block-cum-zone offices and Urban Body Offices, including the Office of the Executive Officer, Zone Office of Nagar Parishad, and Municipal Corporation, running from August 2 to September 1, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
In a letter sent to political parties, the election office mentioned, “The draft voter list is accessible on the Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar's website for viewing. Furthermore, details regarding former voters who have not submitted the counting form and whose names are absent from the draft electoral list for 2025 will also be made available.”
Political parties are also requested to assist in submitting claims and objections concerning the voters listed in the draft.
“The draft electoral list published on August 1, 2025, should be reviewed carefully based on the eligibility date of July 1, 2025. All political parties are urged to inspect the draft electoral roll thoroughly. If any qualified individual’s name is not on the list, they should be encouraged to apply to the BLO/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer/Electoral Registration Officer with the declaration form in Form-6 and necessary documents,” stated the ECI.
The ECI's communication to political parties emphasized, “In light of Article 326 of the Indian Constitution and Sections 16 and 19 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, we request necessary cooperation to include all eligible persons in the electoral list and to remove names of those who are ineligible, ensuring 100% accuracy of the voter list.”
Earlier today, the poll panel also prepared to unveil sample draft electoral rolls for all 90,817 polling stations in Bihar.
