New Delhi, Aug 5 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reported receiving 2,864 completed applications from individual voters in Bihar for the addition or removal of names in the draft voter list since August 1, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
From 3 p.m. on August 1 to 3 p.m. on August 5, political parties collectively filed no claims or objections regarding the addition of eligible electors or the removal of ineligible electors, as noted in the ECI's daily update.
In its report on claims and objections related to the draft electoral roll, the ECI emphasized that special camps have been established in all Block-cum-Circle Offices and Urban Local Body Municipal Offices. These camps will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day until September 1, 2025.
As part of a special campaign initiated by the Bihar CEO on August 1 to encourage the addition of eligible new young electors aged 18 as of July 1 to October 1, 2025, a total of 14,914 young electors have submitted their forms along with the necessary declarations.
The ECI has also urged all electors to submit their new photographs to their BLOs before September 1, as new identity cards will be issued to all eligible voters.
To facilitate claims and objections for eligible elector names, the ECI has provided political parties with a list of electors whose names appeared in the June 24 electoral roll but are missing from the August 1 draft.
Additionally, around 1.60 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs), appointed by the District Presidents of all twelve political parties, are actively participating in this initiative.
According to the Special Intensive Revision order, the draft electoral rolls for Bihar were published on August 1 following the completion of the Enumeration Phase from June 24 to July 25.
The draft electoral rolls for all 90,712 polling booths across the 243 Assembly Constituencies were shared with all political parties by the 38 DEOs of Bihar on August 1.
