New Delhi, April 18 (NationPress) In a decisive move against the unlawful use of loudspeakers at places of worship, such as mosques and temples, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced on Friday his commitment to uphold the Supreme Court directives aimed at reducing noise pollution.
“Every individual must comply with the Supreme Court guidelines concerning loudspeaker usage,” stated Sirsa during an inspection in the Rajouri Garden area.
He also mandated rigorous action against unlicensed raw meat vendors, roadside eateries, polluting cooking establishments, unauthorized denim manufacturing units, and dyeing facilities.
During his inspection, Sirsa highlighted that the operation of commercial and industrial entities in residential neighborhoods significantly contributes to pollution.
He instructed strict measures against civic and environmental infractions in residential zones that negatively impact the quality of life for inhabitants.
The Minister urged officials to take firm action, asserting, “Illegal activities will not be tolerated.”
“Residents have frequently informed me about illegal encroachments on thoroughfares, unlicensed raw meat shops, polluting establishments, and unauthorized parking, which complicate movement for citizens, particularly women. These issues must be addressed as a priority,” he remarked.
Sirsa also directed officials to prioritize resolving waterlogging issues. “The presence of dirt and standing water on roads not only exacerbates pollution and health risks but also hinders safe movement for citizens,” he stated.
Sirsa affirmed that the Delhi Government is committed to evolving the city into a cleaner, greener, and more livable urban environment through proactive governance and ongoing engagement with stakeholders.
“With a defined vision for sustainable development, Delhi aims to emerge as a world-class, pollution-free metropolis that provides improved amenities and a superior quality of life for all its residents,” concluded the Minister.
