New Delhi, Nov 22 (NationPress) In a rapid and meticulously coordinated effort, Delhi Police resolved a blind murder case in less than 24 hours following the filing of the FIR, successfully apprehending the suspect and seizing vital evidence, an official stated on Saturday.
The case involves the tragic murder of 26-year-old Yogender, a resident of Nathupura, whose remains were discovered in a drain at IP Colony on November 12. Initially, the situation arose from a missing person report that was lodged on November 6.
After the body was retrieved from the IP Colony Nala, police confirmed through a post-mortem examination conducted on November 17 that the cause of death was homicide.
“Consequently, FIR No. 548/2025 U/s 103 BNS was registered at PS Swroop Nagar, Delhi,” the Delhi Police noted in their press release.
Under the direction of SHO Alok Kumar Rajan, two specialized teams were established—one dedicated to technical surveillance and the other to field intelligence.
The technical team meticulously reviewed CCTV footage across multiple routes and pinpointed a suspicious white Wagon-R with partial registration numbers 0250/3250. The analysis of call detail records (CDR) further corroborated this lead.
At the same time, the field unit executed local inquiries and interrogated family members and acquaintances.
A significant breakthrough occurred when the victim’s family identified the partial vehicle registration as belonging to the victim’s brother-in-law, Anis Pal (35).
“The pivotal moment came when the car's partial registration details were shared with the family, leading them to recognize it as the vehicle of the deceased’s brother-in-law, Anis Pal,” the police reported.
“Further investigation revealed that Anis Pal had been in contact with the victim right before his disappearance. Following thorough and systematic questioning, the suspect, Anis Pal, admitted to his involvement and was promptly arrested,” they added.
Authorities indicated that the accused allegedly stabbed Yogender during a heated dispute inside his vehicle on the night of November 5. He then disposed of the victim’s clothing and concealed the body in a drain near IP Colony.
The next day, he attempted to wash the vehicle to eliminate evidence.
Items recovered include a blood-stained knife, the Wagon-R car (HR55AU0250) with blood stains on the driver's seat, the clothing worn by the suspect during the crime, and CCTV footage depicting the disposal of the body and the cleaning of the vehicle.
Anis has been presented before a court, which approved a two-day police custody for continued investigation, including forensic examination of recovered items.
“This case exemplifies the Delhi Police’s steadfast professionalism and commitment,” stated DCP Outer North district of Delhi, Hareshwar Swami.
