In New Delhi on January 3, BJP leader Kompella Madhavi Latha, who faced off against AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat during the 2024 elections, sent a compelling political message at the Delhi Shabdotsav 2026. She lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for national unity and forecasted that the BJP would establish its government in Telangana by 2029.

Speaking on the second day of the three-day cultural and literary festival held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Latha emphasized that the BJP’s growth in Telangana was unavoidable, asserting that Owaisi’s political supremacy in Hyderabad would diminish, regardless of her potential candidacy in the future.

In front of an enthusiastic crowd, Latha characterized PM Modi’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ as a blend of empowerment across various regions, merging the strengths of both North and South India. She depicted the Prime Minister as a unifying figure propelling the nation forward, grounded in Sanatan Dharma, which she described as prioritizing national pride and global goodwill over divisive ideologies.

Latha underscored that Hindu Dharma should be recognized as a way of life rather than just a faith, attributing it to India’s cultural resilience and initiatives like vaccine diplomacy. She remarked that the historical contributions of North India in resisting invasions and South India in upholding ancient traditions exemplified the nation’s enduring unity.

Reflecting on her political path, Latha mentioned her entry into politics was inspired by PM Modi, whom she affectionately referred to as her “brother.” She claimed that she received the BJP nomination without any lobbying and garnered over 3.3 lakh votes solely through public backing.

In contrast, she pointed out that other political landscapes are often driven by monetary influence, while the BJP thrives on trust, collaboration, and ethical political practices.

Addressing her controversial gesture of shooting an arrow during the 2024 campaign, Latha clarified that it symbolized Lord Ram’s arrow aimed at crafting a brighter future for India on Ram Navami, rather than promoting violence. She expressed regret if the gesture offended anyone and reaffirmed that non-violence is central to her beliefs.

Regarding internal party dynamics, she dismissed reports about BJP leader T. Raja Singh’s brief withdrawal as normal disagreements within a political family, expressing confidence in a resolution.

Latha also took aim at the Congress, accusing previous administrations of failing to enhance North-South unity and neglecting women’s empowerment, a fundamental tenet of Sanatan Dharma.

Highlighting the national contributions to the Ram Temple, including donations from various regions, she stated that these efforts illustrated India’s unified essence.

The session attracted significant crowds and emerged as one of the festival's standout events, showcasing poetry, music, discussions, and cultural displays that celebrate India’s rich civilizational heritage.
