New Delhi, June 22 (NationPress) Delhi's Health and Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh participated in an impressive plantation effort on Sunday, planting 501 trees and committing to infrastructure enhancements in his Vikaspuri constituency aimed at providing a safer, quicker, and more dignified existence for residents.

While inaugurating the long-awaited construction of the Baprola Village to Harphool Vihar road, the Minister stated: “Under the guidance of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, we are reviving long-delayed projects and investing in the future of our youth and city.”

“This initiative illustrates the Delhi government’s proactive governance approach — prioritizing the needs of the public and the safety of children in its development strategy,” he elaborated.

The new road project addresses a public demand that has remained unmet for many years in the Vikaspuri Assembly constituency, he noted.

The road, which had fallen into disrepair and created significant commuting challenges for locals, is crucial for daily commutes — especially for schoolchildren, he added.

It acts as an essential connection to two major educational institutions in the vicinity and is utilized by students from the government school in Baprola Village, benefiting around 3,000 to 3,500 schoolchildren.

Residents from Baprola Village, G-2 Jai Vihar, Prashant Enclave, Bajrang Chowk, and Harphool Vihar will see direct benefits from the upgraded road infrastructure, he pointed out.

The Minister remarked that the road project signifies the government’s ongoing commitment to inclusive urban development and serves as evidence of its action-oriented governance in the Vikaspuri area.

Earlier that day, the Vikaspuri Assembly celebrated an environmental achievement with the planting of 501 trees as part of the ongoing "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative in just one day.

The Minister emphasized that these trees represent more than mere greenery — they embody the blessings of every mother and a collective promise to safeguard our environment.

He affirmed the government's resolve to expand this initiative throughout Delhi and encouraged all citizens to join in by planting at least one tree in honor of their mothers, making the city greener one sapling at a time.
