New Delhi, June 17 (NationPress) In a significant enhancement to Delhi's healthcare framework, 33 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Health and Wellness Centers) and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras were inaugurated in the capital on Tuesday. This network of healthcare facilities, aimed at redefining the city's health landscape, was launched by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with ministers from the Delhi government and BJP parliamentarians.
During the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta stated, "Today marks a pivotal moment as we unveil an Arogya Mandir (Health and Wellness Center) under a special initiative of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. Across Delhi, we are inaugurating 33 Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras simultaneously today. I am proud to say that our ministers, MPs, and MLAs are launching these centers in various locations."
The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, featuring state-of-the-art healthcare equipment, will offer a comprehensive range of services, functioning as a one-stop facility for diverse medical needs.
Each center will include in-house testing capabilities for 14 diagnostic types, along with external access to an additional 79 tests. Furthermore, national vaccination programs will be available at these centers.
In addition to medical testing and vaccinations, the centers will host yoga sessions every Monday and Friday, provide family planning services, and offer pre-and post-natal care. Operating daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., these centers will be staffed by a medical officer, a nurse, a multipurpose worker, and a sanitation worker.
Previously, Mohalla Clinics mainly provided doctor consultations, with most diagnostic tests outsourced and crucial services like immunization unavailable. The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will consolidate these essential services under one roof.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, after inaugurating an Arogya Mandir at a government school in Khajuri Khas, in the Karawal Nagar constituency, remarked, "The Aarogya Mandir is genuinely a 'Temple of Health', and its name is aptly chosen. Today is a historic day for Delhi as we inaugurate 33 Aarogya Mandirs across the city. Our aim is to establish 1,139 Aarogya Mandirs in the upcoming three months. In my Karawal Nagar constituency, five locations have already been identified. We plan to open at least two Aarogya Mandirs in every ward within the next three months. Efforts are already in motion, with at least one location in each ward identified."
