Mumbai, Nov 22 (NationPress) Renowned global icon Priyanka Chopra revealed that her role as a producer for Born Hungry evoked reflections of her own experiences navigating life across continents, despite not encountering the challenges faced by celebrity chef Sash Simpson.
Having lived between two distinct cultures, Priyanka acknowledged finding “familiar echoes” in Sash's quest for identity amidst diverse cultural landscapes. She noted, however, that Sash's childhood struggles were far more profound than her own.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, she shared, “Definitely. I mean, I didn't have the struggles that Sash had as a child. That's incomprehensible to me.”
The actress, who has championed the documentary through her production company Purple Pebble Pictures in collaboration with filmmaker Barry Avrich’s Melbar Entertainment Group, reflected on the numerous children she's encountered in her humanitarian efforts, who remain ensnared in unchanging circumstances.
“There are so many children around the world whose lives and situations remain stagnant. I’ve met many of these kids globally. The life Sash has successfully built is a daily source of inspiration for me,” said Priyanka, who has also produced notable films like Paani, Ventilator, Pahuna: The Little Visitors, The Sky Is Pink, To Kill A Tiger, and Anuja, among others.
Born Hungry, which will be available for streaming on JioHotstar, narrates Sash Simpson’s journey from being abandoned as a young boy in India to his adoption in Canada and his subsequent rise as a renowned chef.
On the acting front, Priyanka is set to star alongside Mahesh Babu in a film directed by SS Rajamouli. Additionally, she has been cast in the latest installment of the popular franchise Krrish 4, marking Hrithik Roshan’s directorial debut.
The 42-year-old actress, crowned Miss World 2000, will also portray a 19th-century Caribbean pirate in the upcoming swashbuckling action drama, The Bluff.
