Shortly after the news broke, Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan arrived at the Pawan Hans crematorium to pay their final respects to Dharmendra.

They were seen arriving in their vehicles amidst significant police presence.

Actors Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Zayed Khan, and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur were also captured at the site alongside the late actor's family. Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89.

The actor had previously been hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai but was discharged after showing signs of improvement.

Reports indicated that he was placed on a ventilator due to respiratory challenges. He resided at his Khandala farmhouse with his first wife, Prakash Kaur.

This event adds to the recent losses in the Hindi film industry, following the deaths of actors Pankaj Dheer, Asrani, Satish Shah, and advertising icon Piyush Pandey last month.

Born in 1935 in Punjab, Dharmendra emerged as one of Bollywood’s most enduring and beloved stars, beginning his career in the early 1960s after being discovered in a talent competition.

In the late 1950s, Filmfare magazine, in partnership with Bimal Roy Productions, organized a nationwide talent search for new faces in Hindi cinema.

Dharmendra entered the competition and was selected as the winner in 1958, recognized for his striking looks and natural allure. This achievement paved the way for his entry into the film industry.

That same talent search later discovered Rajesh Khanna, one of Hindi cinema’s greatest superstars. Dharmendra quickly ascended to fame, celebrated for his captivating looks, emotional resonance, and effortless screen presence.
