New Delhi, Nov 24 (NationPress) Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu expressed his heartfelt sorrow on Monday regarding the demise of Bollywood legend Dharmendra, stating that his legacy will endure through the lives he influenced and the body of work he leaves behind.

“I feel a deep sense of loss with the passing of the esteemed actor and former Member of Parliament, Shri Dharmendra. Over the years, I had the privilege of several close interactions with him. His remarkable career, spanning over six decades, is highlighted by timeless classics like Sholay, Yaadon ki Baraat, and Phool Aur Pathar, among numerous other blockbuster films,” the former VP shared on X.

“Dharmendra's presence on screen was both larger-than-life and magnetic. His remarkable kindness, sense of humor, and ability to navigate life's challenges with grace are qualities that will forever be cherished. His significant contributions to Bollywood and public service have etched an unforgettable imprint on our nation’s consciousness,” he added.

The former VP further remarked, “Over the decades, Dharmendra has inspired countless generations through his artistry, integrity, and commitment to the people. I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans. Shri Dharmendra’s legacy will indeed continue to shine through the lives he affected and the work he has created. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi also expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of Bollywood icon Dharmendra.

“The passing of Dharmendra Ji signifies the conclusion of an era in Indian cinema. He was a legendary figure, an extraordinary actor who infused charm and depth into every character he portrayed. The way he embraced various roles resonated deeply with many,” PM Modi stated on X.

“Dharmendra Ji was equally revered for his humility, simplicity, and warmth. In this sorrowful time, my thoughts are with his family, friends, and countless fans. Om Shanti,” the tweet concluded.
