Agartala, Nov 24 (NationPress) Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday called upon the youth to delve into the impactful legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his crucial contribution to India’s nation-building. He highlighted that grasping the significance of national leaders is vital for nurturing patriotic values.
During the launch of the Sardar@150 Unity March in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Agartala, the Chief Minister stated that understanding Patel’s legacy would enlighten the youth, who played an essential role in uniting the country and worked diligently to ensure the peaceful integration of princely states into India.
He mentioned that numerous events are being organized nationwide to honor Sardar Patel’s contributions aimed at maintaining the country’s unity and safeguarding its sovereignty. In recognition of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, various programs are being held in every state to commemorate his efforts and sacrifices.
“Patel was instrumental in uniting all princely states. From 1947 to 1949, he dedicated himself to the country’s unity, and to honor him, a series of events have been planned, including debate competitions in schools and colleges,” he stated.
“Many young individuals remain unaware of his contributions, and it is essential for them to learn about his legacy. There are conspiracies aimed at undermining our country’s unity, and we are vigilant against them,” he added. Saha mentioned that he would travel to Gujarat on Tuesday to participate in the Padayatra there.
Gujarat is set to host a grand National Padyatra celebrating Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, commencing on November 26 and concluding on December 5. This historic journey will start at Patel’s birthplace, Karamsad, and end at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.
Saha indicated that all Chief Ministers have been invited to join the Padayatra, and discussions will be held at various stops along the way. He also shared that his government has created over 20,000 jobs in Tripura, with more opportunities on the horizon.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, Padma Shri awardee gymnast Dipa Karmakar, and other officials.
