Jaipur, February 25 (NationPress) In a significant operation directed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau Headquarters in Jaipur, officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau Outpost in Dholpur apprehended Birendra Kumar Sharma, a Patwari from Patwar Halka Basai Samanta, Tehsil Basai Samanta, District Dholpur, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant.

The Director General of Police for the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Govind Gupta, revealed that a complaint was lodged at the Dholpur Outpost. The complaint stated that the father of the complainant had completed a registered transfer of Khasra Nos. 244, 249, and 476 under Account No. 141 in favor of the complainant on January 6, 2026.

In spite of the legal transfer, Patwari Birendra Kumar Sharma was reportedly pressuring the complainant, demanding Rs 50,000 to facilitate the name transfer (mutation) in the official revenue records.

After conducting a thorough verification of the claims, the Anti-Corruption Bureau determined that the allegations had sufficient grounds.

Under the guidance of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, a trap was set on February 25, 2026. This operation was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau Outpost Dholpur, Gyan Chand, along with his dedicated team.

During the operation, Patwari Birendra Kumar Sharma was caught in the act of accepting the bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant. The corrupt money was retrieved from the window of the accused's office during the operation.

Immediate legal procedures were initiated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on site, and Patwari Birendra Kumar Sharma is currently under interrogation led by the Additional Director General of Police, ACB, Smita Srivastava.

A case is being filed against the accused Patwari in accordance with the pertinent sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigations are ongoing by the agency.
