Patna, Feb 14 (NationPress) The technical experts and consultants from the Bihar government are poised to finalize a survey and deliver a report regarding the alignment of the Digha-Koilwar four-lane expressway next week, as per official sources.
The road construction department has enlisted a private company to undertake the survey and determine the most efficient route for the expressway.
This four-lane highway will stretch along the banks of the Ganga and Son rivers, circumventing densely populated regions like Bihta, Maner, Danapur, and Patna.
Experts have advised that the highway should be constructed on vacant land to the north of the embankment, distancing it from residential areas to promote smoother traffic flow and quicker connectivity.
Once completed, the expressway will drastically cut travel time between Koilwar and Digha JP Setu, allowing commuters to make the journey in merely 35 minutes.
The Digha-Koilwar expressway is anticipated to alleviate congestion, boost connectivity, and foster regional development, marking it as a vital infrastructure initiative for Bihar’s roadway system.
This four-lane expressway will connect with the Koilwar-Buxar four-lane road, linking to the Purvanchal Expressway near Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh (UP).
This significant infrastructure undertaking will substantially shorten travel times and enhance connectivity throughout Bihar and UP.
Furthermore, the expressway will minimize the distance between Digha JP Setu and Pareb (Koilwar) NH-30 to a mere 36 km for the residents of Bhojpur, Buxar, Saran, and Vaishali districts.
The project also encompasses the construction of an elevated road alongside the Ganga and Son rivers, akin to the Digha-Didarganj JP Ganga Path.
The existing 11 km stretch between Maner and Pareb will undergo upgrades to become a four-lane highway, integrated into the project.
The Bihta-Danapur elevated road will further alleviate traffic issues in urban centers, creating a seamless travel corridor between Patna, Saran, and Vaishali districts.
This route will connect to the Sherpur-Dighwara Ganga Bridge and Digha JP Bridge, ensuring expedited travel between Bihar and UP.
The Digha-Koilwar expressway will offer quicker and more efficient travel options for both commuters and freight transport, ultimately stimulating economic growth and infrastructure progress in Bihar and its neighboring areas.
