New Delhi, Sep 16 (NationPress) In a pointed remark aimed at opposition factions, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday redefined their criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that he is adept at “Dil ki chori” rather than “vote chori”.
During a ceremony for Vishwakarma Puja, CM Gupta remarked that PM Modi's immense popularity negates the need for electoral misconduct. “Much like ‘Makhan Chor’, he is engaged in ‘Dil ki chori’,” she stated.
Criticizing the Congress, she noted, “PM Modi resembles a saint who hasn't enriched his family while in power, whereas the Congress party allocates land to ‘jijaji’, positions to ‘didi’, and nominated the mother as a PM candidate.”
This statement subtly alluded to the perceived advantages enjoyed by the Gandhi family within the Congress.
She also declared a ‘Seva Sankalp Walk’ on Kartavya Path on Wednesday, aimed at committing to national development and expressing gratitude to PM Modi for his unwavering contributions to the nation.
Promising improved welfare for city workers, the Chief Minister emphasized that under past administrations, welfare initiatives remained mere paperwork, but the BJP government is determined to deliver each scheme directly to the workers.
On the occasion of Prime Minister Modi’s 75th birthday on Wednesday (September 17), she announced plans to establish 500 new creches for working women in the capital, stating this initiative will significantly aid the diligent Vishwakarma mothers.
“These creches will ensure children receive proper nutrition and care while securing the livelihoods of their mothers,” she conveyed to the media.
At the event, she remarked, “For 27 years, the Congress and AAP governed the city without launching any welfare schemes for laborers.”
Under PM Modi's leadership, the BJP government in Delhi promptly raised the minimum wages soon after taking office.
Highlighting the housing issues for workers, CM Gupta pledged to convert every slum into permanent housing. “Previous governments depleted the coffers, but we are committed to achieving this goal, even if it takes time,” she affirmed.
Providing quality education for workers' children and healthcare for workers remain priorities. “Upon assuming power, we introduced the Ayushman health insurance scheme offering up to ₹10 lakh treatment for impoverished workers,” she added.
CM Gupta also recalled the AAP government's inability to assist workers during the pandemic, as countless were compelled to trek back to their villages.
Earlier, the CM shared a video on X, showcasing students from Delhi government schools paying a musical tribute to PM Modi on his 75th birthday.
The video features PM Modi at the Red Fort and in a fighter jet cockpit, capturing the patriotic sentiments of students in various regional languages.
In a message on X, she expressed, “The entire life of Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji has been devoted to service, commitment, and the upliftment of our nation. As we celebrate his birthday, the Delhi Government is hosting a Seva Sankalp Walk on Kartavya Path. This walk symbolizes gratitude from the citizens of Delhi for the Prime Minister's relentless efforts, visionary guidance, and unwavering service.
