Proud of this remarkable legacy, Professor Singh shared with IANS, “Delhi University has celebrated its 103rd anniversary. This venerable institution has significantly impacted the lives of countless students. It brings us immense joy that the Chief Minister of Delhi is a graduate of DU, and we also take pride in having the Prime Minister of India as our alumnus.”

While discussing his commitment to enhancing the university's infrastructure, the 23rd Vice-Chancellor remarked, “We are undertaking extensive improvements to the infrastructure at Delhi University. I extend my gratitude to the Government of India and the Prime Minister for their support. Excitingly, projects worth approximately Rs 2,000 crore are currently underway at Delhi University, which will fortify the institution's future.”

Professor Singh, previously the Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University, emphasized, “Over the past century, DU has evolved, and our facilities have aged. It is essential to develop new infrastructure that caters to the requirements of the 21st century.”

“The Government of India is actively working on this, having allocated substantial funding. Our West Campus and East Campus projects are in progress, along with plans for two new colleges—Veer Savarkar in Najafgarh and another in Fatehpur Beri. In the next year or two, we anticipate witnessing significant advancements in DU’s infrastructure,” he stated.

The VC refuted claims that individuals aligned with right-wing or Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ideologies are being appointed at the university.

“I find such allegations to be unfounded,” he asserted, adding, “There is a structured selection process consisting of three stages, including screening, interviews, and assessments of candidates’ communication, writing, and soft skills.”

“Those who make such claims are either misinformed or lack the understanding necessary to appreciate our rigorous selection standards,” he cautioned, urging self-proclaimed experts to refrain from disparaging DU’s commitment to quality.
