Bhagalpur, Jan 7 (NationPress) District Magistrate (DM) of Bhagalpur, Nawal Kishor Choudhary, has announced that e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) and Aadhaar authentication are essential for farmers to maintain their eligibility for benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and other agricultural services.

During a conversation with IANS, DM Nawal Kishor Choudhary noted that feedback from farmers regarding the e-KYC and Farmer Registration (FR) processes was gathered during his field visits. In response to this, a comprehensive strategy has been developed to conduct registration camps across all blocks and panchayats, ensuring that no eligible farmer is overlooked.

He emphasized that farmers who have successfully registered will experience no challenges in receiving their payments. He added that e-KYC can be completed via a mobile application or at Common Service Centres (CSCs).

“We are also reaching out to farmers by organizing camps to assist them with their e-KYC and registration,” he explained to IANS.

The DM undertook visits to various blocks in Bhagalpur district to monitor the progress of farmers’ e-KYC and FR. He engaged directly with farmers during his visits to gather their input on the speed and effectiveness of the ongoing verification and registration efforts.

Ensuring the timely execution of these processes is a top priority for the district administration, and he has directed officials accordingly.

As per the administration, e-KYC and Farmer Registration are being conducted throughout all blocks and panchayats in Bihar.

Farmer advisors, revenue personnel, and agriculture coordinators have been assigned to guarantee that every eligible farmer fulfills the necessary requirements.

The DM revealed that special camps are being established in all panchayats to allow farmers to complete e-KYC and FR efficiently.

Administrative officials have stated that e-KYC and FR are crucial for maintaining smooth and uninterrupted access to PM-KISAN benefits. They also noted that these processes are mandatory for access to other government agricultural services.

The identity of farmers is confirmed through Aadhaar-based authentication, aimed at preventing duplication and ensuring that benefits reach legitimate beneficiaries, according to officials.

Farmers can now complete Aadhaar authentication via mobile applications or at Common Service Centres (CSCs), utilizing face authentication or OTP-based verification. This can be done conveniently from their homes.

Farmer Registration is vital for creating a digital database by linking Aadhaar information with land records. This integrated approach enhances transparency and improves the efficiency and targeting of government schemes.

To complete FR, farmers must possess their Aadhaar card and a linked mobile number. The district administration has urged farmers to finalize their e-KYC and Farmer Registration promptly to prevent any interruptions in receiving PM-KISAN installments and other agricultural benefits.
