Patna, June 25 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has assigned electoral symbols to various political parties in preparation for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, notably the Jan Suraaj Party and the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
In a notable turn of events, the Jan Suraaj Party, under the leadership of Prashant Kishor, has been granted the ‘School Bag’ symbol.
Consequently, all 243 candidates from Jan Suraaj will participate in the forthcoming elections utilizing this symbol.
The party expressed its gratitude for the decision made by the Election Commission, asserting that the ‘School Bag’ signifies its primary focus — transforming the education system in Bihar.
“Education stands first among our five core commitments for Bihar’s advancement. The ‘School Bag’ symbol embodies our dedication to providing quality education for every child in the state,” remarked a party spokesperson.
On the other hand, the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), which had to compete in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with the ‘Ladies Purse’ symbol, has successfully regained its traditional ‘Boat’ symbol.
VIP national spokesperson Dev Jyoti confirmed this development, stating: “The Election Commission has officially returned the ‘Boat’ symbol to VIP. This marks a triumph for democratic principles and the Constitution established by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The ‘Boat’ symbol holds deep emotional and historical significance for our party and its supporters.”
Since its formation, VIP has utilized the boat symbol during elections, including the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, where it managed to secure four seats.
The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), led by Upendra Kushwaha, has been assigned an LPG cylinder by the Election Commission.
In addition to Jan Suraaj, VIP, and RLM, the Election Commission has allocated symbols to other parties such as the Bharatiya Sarthak Party – Scissors, Lohia Janata Dal – Bucket, Jan Salamati Party – Ladies Purse, Bharatiya Janata Samaj Sevak Party – Flute, and Rashtriya Samajwadi Log Adhikar Party – Ring.
With the distribution of electoral symbols, the political landscape in Bihar is becoming increasingly dynamic as parties gear up their candidates and campaign strategies for the high-stakes assembly elections.
