New Delhi, Sep 6 (NationPress) The Enforcement Directorate from the Raipur zonal office has successfully seized two high-end vehicles, including a Porsche Cayenne Coupe and a Mercedes-Benz, during a search operation in Durg, Chhattisgarh.
This operation was carried out on August 28, 2025, in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, as part of the investigation into the "Re-agent Procurement Scam" involving Shashank Chopda and others.
According to the ED, during the search, both luxury vehicles were confiscated under Section 17(1) of the PMLA, 2002. These vehicles are registered under M/s. Mokshit Corporation, a partnership firm owned by Shashank Chopda and his father Shantilal Chopda.
The investigation was initiated following an FIR registered by the ACB/EOW, Raipur, against Mokshit Corporation and senior officials from the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSCL) and the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) for alleged involvement in a criminal conspiracy and corruption.
Moreover, a chargesheet has already been filed by the ACB/EOW in connection with this FIR.
As per the FIR and chargesheet, Shashank Chopda and officials from DHS and CGMSCL are accused of conspiring to manipulate tender processes, creating fabricated demands, and supplying medical equipment and reagents at inflated prices to CGMSCL, leading to substantial financial losses for the state and unjust gains for themselves.
This latest seizure is in addition to previous actions taken on July 30, 2025, when properties valued at over Rs. 40 crore were seized or frozen, including two other luxury vehicles—a Mini Cooper and a Toyota Fortuner—registered under M/s. Mokshit Corporation.
The agency has indicated that further investigations are ongoing.
