Kolkata, Nov 10 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday conveyed her condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the explosion that occurred at Delhi's Red Fort.
In a statement shared on her social media platform, Banerjee expressed her disbelief regarding the event.
"I am profoundly saddened to learn about the devastating blast in New Delhi. My thoughts are with the families mourning their loved ones, and I extend my prayers for the healing of all injured individuals," stated Banerjee.
The explosion has tragically claimed the lives of at least ten individuals and left many others wounded near the Red Fort.
A heightened state of alert has been issued in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Approximately seven fire engines were deployed to manage the situation.
West Bengal BJP spokesperson Shatorupa remarked to IANS that this incident raises significant concerns among the public.
"This unfortunate event in Delhi has occurred. I stand in solidarity with those who have lost their loved ones. We await further details. Nevertheless, the police have acted swiftly, detaining one individual thus far. Emergency services and medical personnel arrived at the scene promptly following the explosion," expressed the BJP representative.
CPIM leader Koustav Chatterjee communicated to IANS that the responsibility for this incident lies with the Central government, as maintaining law and order in Delhi falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"It is undoubtedly a tragic occurrence. Numerous lives have been lost. What actions were taken by the Central Intelligence Unit? Is this not a failure on the part of the central government, considering that the Ministry of Home Affairs oversees law and order in the national capital? This highlights a significant lapse in our nation's intelligence framework, especially following the Pahalgam attack," stated the CPIM leader.
