Chandigarh, Jan 7 (NationPress) In a significant blow to organized crime, the Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police has successfully obtained the extradition of notorious gangster Aman Kumar, also known as Aman Bhainswal, from the United States. This marks the sixth extradition executed by the STF since 2025, and it represents the second substantial operation conducted from the US, which notably enhances the state's framework for combating crime.
In light of this successful operation, DGP Ajay Singhal issued a stern warning to criminals and fugitives who think they can evade justice by fleeing the country or using fraudulent identities. “Those who believe they can hide beyond national borders or escape the law with fake identities must realize that no one can evade the reach of Haryana Police,” he asserted in a statement.
“Every fugitive, whether inside India or abroad, will ultimately face justice. Haryana is a state of law and order, not a haven for criminals,” the DGP emphasized.
Gangster Bhainswal has been heavily implicated in numerous criminal activities, including firing, murder, attempted murder, extortion, and illegal arms dealings throughout Haryana and the Delhi-NCR region. He operated an extensive criminal network spanning areas such as Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and the national capital.
There are ten criminal cases filed against Bhainswal in both Haryana and Delhi. Despite being a proclaimed offender, he managed to escape abroad using forged documents in a bid to avoid prosecution. However, the STF's persistent tracking, technical surveillance, and coordinated international efforts caused his escape plan to unravel.
Investigations uncovered that Bhainswal illegally procured a passport using forged documents featuring an address in East Delhi. On June 20, 2024, he departed for Kuwait using this fraudulent passport before entering the US. Following this revelation, a case was registered under the Indian Justice Code (IJC) and the Passport Act in Gohana, Haryana.
A Look-Out Circular (LOC) was issued, an Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) was obtained, and he was officially pronounced a proclaimed offender. Each phase of this operation exemplifies the STF's meticulous legal approach, vigilance, and systematic execution. His extradition stands as a clear testament to the STF's broadened global strategy aimed at capturing fugitives hiding overseas.
