Itanagar, Dec 25 (NationPress) In a remarkable exhibition of adventure and patriotism, Jeep India, in partnership with the Indian Army's Gajraj Corps, embarked on a captivating expedition through the stunning landscapes of the Eastern Himalayas, officials reported.
A Defence Spokesman stated on Tuesday that the adventure journey spanned distinguished trails at Bumla Pass, Lungro La, and Shungatser Lake, highlighting the rugged beauty and strategic significance of these unspoiled border areas in Arunachal Pradesh.
A touching moment of the expedition was a solemn tribute at the Tawang War Memorial, commemorating the bravery and sacrifice of our courageous soldiers.
This extraordinary mix of adventure and remembrance profoundly resonated with both participants and onlookers, the spokesman mentioned.
He added that this initiative is in perfect alignment with the Indian Army's vision of promoting development and showcasing the untapped potential of India's border territories.
Jeep India's renowned Jeep Trails celebrated the breathtaking scenery of Arunachal Pradesh, promoting eco-friendly tourism and reinforcing the connection between civilians and the nation’s border protectors, the spokesman stated.
The expedition highlighted the crucial role of adventure tourism in fostering sustainable development, building regional pride, and positioning Arunachal Pradesh as a premier destination for thrill-seekers and peace enthusiasts.
As per the spokesman, 60 adventurers, including 20 women and a two-year-old boy, participated in the expedition using 25 vehicles.
Earlier this month, a distinctive civilian-military trekking initiative aimed at enhancing border tourism under the “Vibrant Village Programme” was successfully carried out in the scenic area of Zemithang in Arunachal Pradesh.
According to the defence spokesman, the expedition comprised a 16-member team of skilled mountaineers from the Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF) and personnel from the Indian Army. Participants undertook a challenging 40-km trek across the Eastern Himalayas over four days, navigating altitudes ranging from 9,000 to 15,000 feet.
The route included dense forests, rugged terrains, and steep mountain slopes, providing an adventurous and immersive experience.
The spokesman noted that the trek's objective was to promote border tourism, enhance camaraderie between civilians and military personnel, and showcase the stunning beauty of Arunachal Pradesh.
Personnel from the Indian Army ensured participant safety, provided expert guidance, and shared vital high-altitude survival strategies.
The successful conclusion of this expedition is anticipated to inspire further initiatives in the Zemithang region.
These collaborations will not only promote a spirit of cooperation between the armed forces and civilians but also underscore the strategic and cultural importance of India’s border villages.
This effort is a vital step towards integrating remote communities into the national framework, enhancing national security, and revealing the untapped potential of border tourism, the spokesman added.
