Five Militants Neutralized, Two Soldiers Injured in J&K Clash

Srinagar, Dec 19 (NationPress) In a violent confrontation on Thursday, five militants were neutralized and two Army soldiers were injured in a fierce gunfight in J&K’s Kulgam district.
According to officials, the encounter occurred during a combative operation involving joint forces and militants who were entrenched in Kadder village of the Behibagh area of Kulgam district today.
This incident marks the highest number of militants eliminated in a single operation by security forces in J&K throughout 2024.
“Joint forces, including 34 Rashtriya Rifles, police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), initiated a Cordon & Search Operation (CASO) in Kadder village after receiving intelligence about a group of militants hiding in the area.
“As the joint forces advanced towards the hiding militants, the insurgents opened fire, resulting in an encounter where five militants were neutralized and two Army soldiers were injured.
“The identities of the deceased militants are currently being verified. The injured soldiers have been transported to a hospital for medical care. The search operation is ongoing in the vicinity,” officials stated.
Security forces regard the elimination of five militants in Kulgam as a significant victory in their continuous effort to dismantle the terror ecosystem in J&K.
An aggressive campaign against militants, their Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and sympathizers has been initiated by security forces to eradicate the terror network in J&K.
Properties worth several crores belonging to drug traffickers and peddlers have been confiscated in the Kashmir Valley following the necessary orders from the competent authority.
LG Manoj Sinha has been conducting high-level security meetings, where he has issued explicit directives to security forces to intensify their operations against the terror ecosystem.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is presiding over a high-level security review meeting concerning J&K today in Delhi.
Leaders from intelligence agencies, police, CAPFs, and others involved in the anti-terrorist framework in J&K are set to attend the meeting.
