Hyderabad, July 31 (NationPress) Four newly-appointed judges of the Telangana High Court took their oaths on Thursday.
Ghouse Meera Mohiuddin, Chalapathi Rao Suddala, Vakiti Ramakrishna Reddy, and Gadi Praveen Kumar were sworn in during a ceremony at the High Court.
The oath was administered by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh.
On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu appointed four advocates as Additional Judges of the Telangana High Court, who will serve for a duration of two years from the day they assume their offices.
Approximately a month prior, the Supreme Court Collegium approved the elevation of these advocates to judges of the Telangana High Court, following a recommendation made a year earlier by the High Court.
This appointment increases the total number of judges in the High Court to 29, alongside the Chief Justice.
Members of the legal community in Telangana have welcomed these appointments, expressing optimism that it will enhance both the delivery of justice and judicial efficiency in the state.
Praveen Kumar, who is currently the Deputy Solicitor General of India for the Telangana High Court, originates from Bhimgal in the Nizamabad district. He holds an M.A. and L.L.M. from Osmania University.
Ghouse Meera Mohiuddin earned his law degree from a college in Nellore affiliated with Sri Venkateshwara University. He is from Balanagar in Hyderabad and completed his LLM at Osmania University. He previously served as standing counsel for the Telangana Bar Council.
Chalapathi Rao became an advocate on March 26, 1998. In 2022, he was named standing counsel for Jayashankar Agricultural University and previously held the position of vice president of the Telangana High Court Advocates Association.
Ramakrishna Reddy is from Kondamadugu village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. He became an advocate in 1998 and has considerable experience in revenue matters, having served as standing counsel for the Enforcement Directorate.
