New Delhi, July 2 (NationPress) The Indian employment landscape experienced a notable 11 percent increase in fresher recruitment during June, primarily driven by robust demand in sectors like accounting, insurance, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), according to a recent report released on Wednesday.

The Naukri JobSpeak report indicates that non-tech industries are becoming increasingly appealing to new graduates.

"The rise in fresher hiring within non-tech sectors demonstrates the expanding opportunities available for young job seekers," stated Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer at Naukri.

Among the cities in India, Coimbatore surfaced as a significant center for freshers, showcasing a 24 percent boost in hiring throughout the month.

Startups also displayed renewed hiring activity, particularly in metropolitan areas such as Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Pune stood out with a remarkable 32 percent increase in startup hiring. Meanwhile, Raipur noted the highest overall growth in job trends among all cities, recording a 22 percent rise in job postings.

The insurance sector excelled with a 32 percent increase in overall hiring, including a staggering 59 percent surge in fresher recruitment.

Furthermore, the accounting and finance sectors also demonstrated strong performance, with a 34 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth.

Notably, the architecture and interior design sector led the hiring charts with an impressive 50 percent YoY growth.

Both the hospitality and travel sectors continued their upward trajectory with a 21 percent increase compared to June 2024.

The BPO/ITES industry also witnessed a 19 percent growth, spurred by vigorous hiring in emerging cities like Jaipur (up 64 percent) and Baroda (up 54 percent).

"What was particularly remarkable in June was the significant increase in hiring across core service sectors such as Hospitality and BPO/ITES," Goyal noted.

In a favorable development for the IT sector, hiring has rebounded positively after a period of stagnation, especially in tier-II cities.

Moreover, banking and finance unicorns increased their recruitment, hiring 30 percent more candidates compared to June of the prior year.

The report also revealed a rising demand for experienced professionals, with jobs requiring 13–15 years of experience growing by 15 percent, and positions seeking candidates with over 16 years of experience also rising by 15 percent, predominantly in industries like real estate and pharma/biotech.
