MP CM Mohan Yadav secures ₹90,000 crore investments at Mumbai pitch
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday, 8 October 2026, secured investment proposals worth ₹90,000 crore at a high-profile investor interaction in Mumbai, pitching the state as a prime destination for industrial and startup capital. The session, titled 'Interactive Session on Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh', drew corporate leaders and entrepreneurs from across the country.
The Investment Pitch
Chief Minister Yadav made a pointed case for Madhya Pradesh's readiness, rebranding the state's initials to signal opportunity. 'For the industrial world, 'MP' has shifted its meaning to 'More Profit' and 'Mega Projects',' he told attendees, stressing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led administration prioritises execution over announcements.
The pitch yielded immediate results. Fresh investment proposals totalling ₹90,000 crore were secured across renewable energy, manufacturing, and textiles — sectors the state has identified as growth anchors. The projects are projected to generate approximately 15,000 direct and indirect jobs across Madhya Pradesh.
Global Investors Summit 2027 Announced
Looking ahead, Chief Minister Yadav formally announced that Madhya Pradesh will host its flagship Global Investors Summit in January 2027. The announcement builds on the momentum of the previous summit, which reportedly netted investment commitments worth ₹10 lakh crore. Officials are now aiming to surpass that benchmark in the upcoming edition.
Industrial Infrastructure and Competitive Advantages
Highlighting the state's industrial progress over the past 10 months, Yadav pointed to manufacturing corridors rallying under the 'Make in MP' and 'Faith in MP' banners. He cited recent expansions spanning infrastructure and energy, mobility and heavy industry, and healthcare and essentials as evidence of diversified industrial growth.
Yadav emphasised the state's structural advantages: an industrial land bank of 1.25 lakh acres, surplus electricity, dedicated water reserves for industries, and a skilled youth workforce. 'For setting up industries, Madhya Pradesh faces no shortage of land, electricity, or water,' he said. Road, rail, and air connectivity across the state is also reportedly being expanded continuously.
Strategic Location as a Gateway
The Chief Minister underscored Madhya Pradesh's geographical centrality, describing it as a 'natural economic gateway' connecting all regions from north to south and east to west. Dedicated economic and logistics corridors are under rapid construction, strengthening opportunities in high-growth sectors including IT, mining, pharma, tourism, green energy, and automobiles.
Yadav also reaffirmed the administration's investor-first approach, noting that the Madhya Pradesh government treats the investor as being as vital as the capital itself, offering streamlined approvals and end-to-end execution support. This comes amid intensifying interstate competition to attract manufacturing investment, with states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu also running aggressive investor roadshows ahead of their own summits.
