During the 10th gathering of the National Startup Advisory Council (NSAC) held here, which convened industry leaders, startup founders, policymakers, and essential stakeholders, the minister pointed out that innovation is crucial for reimagining India’s startup landscape, stressing the need to advance R&D and promote collaboration.
“He highlighted that collective efforts will be vital in nurturing a dynamic entrepreneurial environment, aiding India’s path towards Viksit Bharat 2047, ” Goyal stated in a post on the X social media platform.
The Union Minister engaged constructively with deep-tech startups to gather their experiences and insights.
“The discussions revolved around improving access to funding, infrastructure support, regulatory facilitation, and global market connections. Key suggestions were made regarding how to bolster the deep-tech ecosystem and encourage innovation across various sectors. The conversation reaffirmed our dedication to creating a supportive and future-ready landscape for emerging technologies and entrepreneurs,” Goyal noted.
In parallel, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has commenced the application process for the fifth edition of the National Startup Awards (NSA), a flagship initiative under the Startup India programme.
The NSA encompasses a broad array of sectors including agriculture, clean energy, fintech, aerospace, health, education, cybersecurity, and accessibility, among others. Each edition introduces new categories to adapt to changing challenges and prospects.
Initiated in 2016, Startup India has significantly transformed the entrepreneurial landscape of India, fostering innovation and empowering youth, women, students, and first-time founders, particularly from tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
To date, over 1.75 lakh startups have been recognized by DPIIT, representing nearly every district in India and spanning various sectors including agriculture, health, education, energy, and deep tech.
