New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of his 75th death anniversary, emphasizing his incomparable contributions and commitment to uniting the nation into a cohesive whole.

Born on October 31, 1875, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is honored as India's 'Iron Man' for his pivotal role in consolidating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union post-Independence, serving as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. He was instrumental in establishing modern civil services, solidifying India's political cohesion and national integrity.

In a post on X, PM Modi stated, "I extend my respectful homage to the Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his 75th death anniversary. His life was devoted to weaving the nation into a unified fabric. The grateful nation will always remember his unmatched contributions towards the formation of a united and robust Bharatvarsha."

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid his respects to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, acknowledging him as a key figure in the freedom movement alongside Mahatma Gandhi. Shah noted that Patel's resolute spirit and administrative prowess earned him significant admiration as a founding father of modern India.

"Sardar Sahab unified a fragmented India into a powerful nation against all odds. As the first Home Minister, he dedicated his life to ensuring the safety of Mother India, maintaining internal stability, and fostering peace," Shah shared on X.

"By revitalizing the cooperative movement and laying the groundwork for a self-sufficient India through empowering women and farmers, Sardar Sahab will continue to guide us like a pole star on the path of prioritizing the nation," he added.

As the first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a crucial role in nation-building, overseeing internal security, and establishing the foundation for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

A close ally of Gandhi, he spearheaded significant movements such as the Kheda Satyagraha and the Quit India Movement, rallying the masses with his compelling speeches and leadership.

Meanwhile, as India commemorates the 150th birth anniversary (known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the government has announced a year-long celebration in his honor, which will include cultural events, unity runs, and tributes to the Iron Man of India.
