Patna, Dec 15 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially named MLA Sanjay Saraogi as the new Bihar BJP President, a decision that is generating considerable buzz within the party and igniting new political debates across the state.

Sanjay Saraogi, a six-term MLA from Darbhanga Sadar and a key figure in the Vaishya community, is now tasked with this vital organizational role.

The announcement was made via an official letter from BJP National General Secretary and head of the headquarters, Arun Singh.

The letter confirmed that BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Sanjay Saraogi as the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bihar, effective immediately.

This change is part of a broader series of significant organizational adjustments by the BJP's senior leadership.

On December 14, the party made headlines by appointing Nitin Nabin, MLA from Bankipur and a current minister in the Bihar government, as the National Working President of the BJP.

With Nitin Nabin's elevation to a national role, the party has similarly entrusted an essential responsibility to Sanjay Saraogi in Bihar.

Sanjay Saraogi takes over from Dilip Jaiswal, who was the previous Bihar BJP president and is currently the Industries Minister in the Bihar government.

Following the announcement of Saraogi's appointment, a wave of excitement has been observed among BJP supporters, especially in Darbhanga and Patna, with party members expressing their congratulations from various corners of the state.

A recognized and longstanding BJP personality in Darbhanga and the Mithila region, Sanjay Saraogi has been elected as MLA from the Darbhanga Sadar Assembly constituency for six consecutive terms.

He has also previously held a ministerial position in the Nitish Kumar-led government.

Born on August 28, 1969, Sanjay Saraogi resides in the Gandhi Chowk area of Darbhanga city.

His father is Parmeshwar Saraogi, and he holds degrees in M.Com and MBA, having engaged with politics since his student days.

His political career began with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) before he formally joined the BJP in 1995.

Saraogi first secured the Darbhanga Sadar Assembly seat in 2005 and has since been re-elected in 2005 (November), 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025.

He has also served as a ward councillor within the Darbhanga Municipal Corporation.

Renowned for his clean reputation and strong grassroots ties, Sanjay Saraogi enjoys considerable backing from the business community.

In 2018, he was appointed the Chairman of the Estimates Committee of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

While he did not secure a position in the current cabinet, the BJP has now given him a pivotal organizational role, highlighting the party's trust in his leadership and experience.
