Patna, Dec 18 (NationPress) Newly appointed Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi is ready to officially take over his role on Thursday at the party's state headquarters in Patna, signaling the start of a new organizational phase for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar.
The outgoing State President Dilip Jaiswal will transfer responsibilities to Saraogi during a ceremony attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with various senior party leaders and members.
The Bihar BJP's social media platform announced on Wednesday, "On 18th December, a grand event will be organized at the BJP State Office for the formal assumption of duties by the newly appointed State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bihar, Sanjay Saraogi. Bihar In-charge Vinod Tawde and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary have reviewed the preparations for this event."
Saraogi is expected to take charge at 12:30 p.m. at the party's state office.
Bihar BJP Media In-charge Danish Eqbal mentioned that Saraogi will arrive in Patna from Darbhanga on Thursday, where extensive arrangements await his arrival.
Party flags, banners, and posters have been placed along the route he will travel to the State Office, with ceremonial welcome gates set up at multiple locations across the city.
Upon his arrival in Patna, Saraogi will offer floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, situated near the High Court. Following this, he will proceed to the BJP State Office in an open jeep, accompanied by party workers.
During the procession, Saraogi will also pay respects at the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan located near the Income Tax Roundabout, before heading directly to the State Office.
On December 15, the BJP appointed MLA Sanjay Saraogi as the new Bihar BJP President, a significant move that has sparked renewed political discussions within the state.
Saraogi, a six-time MLA from Darbhanga Sadar and a notable leader from the Vaishya community, has been given this vital organizational responsibility as the party undergoes extensive internal restructuring.
This appointment was communicated through an official letter from the BJP National General Secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh. The letter indicated that BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Sanjay Saraogi as the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bihar, effective immediately.
This decision is part of a broader set of organizational changes initiated by the BJP's leadership. On December 14, the party surprised analysts by appointing Nitin Nabin, MLA from Bankipur and a minister in the Bihar government, as the National Working President of the BJP.
With Nitin Nabin's elevation nationally, the party has now assigned an equally significant role in Bihar to Sanjay Saraogi, replacing Dilip Jaiswal, the outgoing Bihar BJP president who also serves as the Industries Minister in the Bihar government.
