Patna, April 15 (NationPress) Union Minister Chirag Paswan expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday, voicing his belief that Choudhary will guide Bihar into a transformative new era of progress and achievement.
These comments were made as Samrat Choudhary prepares to be inaugurated as the new Chief Minister of Bihar, signaling a pivotal shift in the state's political landscape. The ceremony will take place at the Raj Bhavan in Patna, marking a historic moment as it will be the first time a leader from the BJP occupies the Chief Minister's office in Bihar.
In a statement to the press, Chirag Paswan remarked, “First and foremost, I extend my warm congratulations to Samrat Choudhary. I have full confidence that he will take my Bihar to unprecedented heights, leading the state towards a promising future.”
He also recognized the significant contributions made by Nitish Kumar. Over the last twenty years, Kumar faced numerous challenges but played a crucial role in propelling Bihar’s development. Paswan commended him for steering the state away from the notorious ‘Jungle Raj’ and initiating a period of progress.
Furthermore, he stated that under Samrat Choudhary’s leadership, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would persist in its agenda for development in Bihar.
The Union Minister underscored that realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' necessitates the establishment of a 'Viksit Bihar' and pledged that all efforts would be concentrated on this objective.
“The manner in which Nitish Kumar has governed Bihar for over two decades, overcoming numerous obstacles, has greatly advanced the state's development. He was instrumental in removing Bihar from the ‘Jungle Raj’ era. Moving forward, under Samrat Choudhary’s leadership, the NDA's initiatives in Bihar will continue. Thus, to fulfill Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat, we must cultivate a Viksit Bihar,” Chirag Paswan stated.
He added that while the focus is now on future advancements, the pivotal role of Nitish Kumar in Bihar's political framework will always be remembered. Paswan also noted Kumar's active involvement in national responsibilities.
“So, we will strive towards that vision. We will continue to honor Nitish Kumar’s contributions and his active role in Bihar’s politics. He is now engaged in significant work at the central government level. I, along with my party, offer heartfelt congratulations to Nitish Kumar, and I also wish to congratulate Samrat Choudhary on assuming this leadership position,” he remarked.
In praise of Nitish Kumar's administration, Paswan stated that mere words cannot encapsulate his achievements.
“I believe no amount of acclaim suffices for his tenure. With the integrity and commitment he exhibited while leading Bihar for over twenty years, he propelled the state forward across multiple sectors. The transformation of Bihar since 2005, when it was handed over to him, is nothing short of remarkable,” Chirag Paswan commented.
Recently serving as Deputy Chief Minister under Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary has been elected as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party and the NDA following Kumar's resignation on Tuesday.
Nitish Kumar resigned after a prolonged tenure exceeding two decades to assume a position in the Rajya Sabha.
The oath of office will be administered by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain.
Alongside Samrat Choudhary, two Deputy Chief Ministers from the Janata Dal (United) quota — Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav — are also expected to take their oaths.
Prominent leaders, including the outgoing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, senior BJP leader B.L. Santhosh, and various other state leaders, are anticipated to attend the ceremony.
On Tuesday evening, Samrat Choudhary met with Governor Syed Ata Hasnain at the Raj Bhavan to officially claim his right to form the government.
The BJP expressed optimism that under his stewardship, Bihar will embark on a new chapter of development, effective governance, and prosperity.
Samrat Choudhary began his political journey in 1990 and first held a ministerial post in 1999 in the government led by Rabri Devi.
