In an interview with IANS, Thakur remarked, “This is truly a historic day. Congratulations to Samrat Choudhary for embracing this significant role. We are united in our support, and every NDA member is prepared to work together under his direction.”
She noted the enthusiasm among party workers regarding this leadership change.
“BJP activists are thrilled about this development. The transition has been seamless, and our leaders are strategizing to work across various sectors, as the upcoming five years are critical for Bihar,” she expressed.
Reflecting on her political journey, Thakur shared, “I am relatively new in this arena and did not know many individuals previously. However, I am now excited about my potential contributions in my constituency.”
Another BJP figure, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, stated, “Samrat Choudhary assumed the role of Chief Minister after being appointed as the leader of the NDA legislative party. With the guidance of Nitish Kumar, Bihar will progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh emphasized the state's progress, saying, “Before 2004, Bihar faced severe challenges. However, under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and Sushil Kumar Modi, the state transitioned from being labeled as a BIMARU state to one on the path of development. With Samrat Choudhary as Chief Minister, we expect the development pace to quicken alongside leaders like Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Vijendra Prasad Yadav.
BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal referred to this development as a “generational change,” adding, “The legacy established by Nitish Kumar over the past 21 years will be advanced by Samrat Choudhary.”
The swearing-in ceremony occurred at Lok Bhawan, where Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office and secrecy to Samrat Choudhary. Shortly thereafter, senior JD(U) leaders Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Vijendra Prasad Yadav were also sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers, as part of their alliance.
Prior to the ceremony, Choudhary visited a Hanuman temple in Rajvanshi Nagar to seek blessings, marking both his personal faith and the commencement of a new political era for Bihar.
