Ahmedabad, Dec 3 (NationPress) In Ahmedabad, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Gujarat, Hareet Shukla, held a meeting with key representatives from prominent political parties — BJP, INC, AAP, and BSP — to evaluate the current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's electoral rolls.

The enumeration phase is active until December 11, with the initial draft voter list slated for publication on December 16.

During the session, CEO Shukla reported that over 82.85% of the enumeration forms have been digitized, with this figure increasing every hour.

Interestingly, the tribal and remote districts are at the forefront of the digitization progress, while all 33 districts are executing the work swiftly.

The CEO commended the commitment of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), referring to them as “the foot soldiers of the Election Commission,” whose efforts on the ground have been essential to this revision initiative.

To boost citizen engagement, more than 50,000 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties are aiding in the revision process.

In addition, over 30,000 volunteers have been deployed throughout municipal and civic areas to assist BLOs, particularly in densely populated urban regions.

Emphasizing the importance of upcoming phases, Shukla urged political parties to designate the maximum number of BLAs to assist voters and ensure the accuracy of the electoral roll.

As part of this initiative, six special statewide camps were conducted on November 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30, benefiting over 50 lakh citizens who attended to resolve voter-related inquiries. More such camps are planned in the following weeks.

The draft voter list, which will be released on December 16, 2025, will also be made available on the CEO’s official website. Lists of voters whose names are absent, along with reasons for their exclusion, will be published at local civic bodies and on the website.

Voters who were unable to submit their enumeration forms and find their names missing from the draft can apply through Form 6. Applications submitted before January 15, 2026, will be processed for inclusion in the final electoral roll. Submissions of Form 6 and Form 8 will continue to be accepted throughout the year as part of ongoing and special summary revision cycles.

At the conclusion of the meeting, officials reiterated the goals of the intensive revision campaign. Representatives from all political parties expressed their commitment to fully cooperate with the Election Commission to ensure the exercise is conducted fairly and efficiently.
