Surat, March 7 (NationPress) During his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted his government's dedication to poverty reduction and infrastructure enhancement, claiming that 25 crore individuals have been lifted out of poverty under his guidance. A spectacular roadshow greeted him, drawing thousands of enthusiastic supporters to the streets.
After concluding his official duties in Silvassa, he returned to Surat, where he was welcomed by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister CR Patil at a helipad close to Capital Square.
After the procession, PM Modi addressed a vast audience, detailing the government's initiatives for economic and social growth. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised PM Modi's leadership, asserting that “true empowerment of the poor has taken place”.
He emphasized that during PM Modi's term, welfare programs have reached the grassroots, providing direct benefits to the underprivileged.
CM Patel mentioned significant initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, which has delivered free food grains to millions, and the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, designed to uplift skilled artisans.
He also acknowledged that PM Modi personally guaranteed loans of up to Rs 50,000 for small street vendors, promoting financial independence among the working class.

Union Minister and Gujarat BJP President C.R. Patil highlighted the government's dedication to the welfare of the disabled, noting that “2.49 crore differently-abled citizens have received assistive devices, ensuring their economic and social inclusion”.
He pointed out a significant budget increase for disability welfare, which rose from Rs 565 crore in 2014 to Rs 1,275 crore in 2024.
Furthermore, the PM Modi-led government has enhanced accessibility at over 700 railway stations, 80 airports, and more than 1,000 bus terminals, promoting inclusive transportation.
C.R. Patil also announced an increase in job reservations for disabled individuals from 3 per cent to 4 per cent in government jobs and from 3 per cent to 5 per cent in higher education, affording them more opportunities.
