The camp, running from July 26-28, saw the attendance of numerous senior Congress officials from both national and state levels, including AICC General Secretary and Gujarat in-charge Mukul Wasnik, Gujarat Congress President Amit Chavda, and the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Dr Tushar Chaudhary.

During his address, Rahul Gandhi stressed the vital importance of district and city presidents in the forthcoming electoral processes. He indicated that their approval will be crucial for ticket distribution in future elections, and that their performance will be evaluated monthly as part of an accountability system. “Each leader will be assessed, and the organization will be bolstered based on performance. With this initiative, we aim to gear up for the upcoming Assembly elections while remaining aligned with Congress ideology and advocating for the rights of Dalits, marginalized, women, youth, and farmers,” he stated.

As part of his visit, Rahul Gandhi also engaged in a special discussion with members of dairy cooperatives and livestock farmers linked with Gujarat’s milk federations.

Participants voiced their complaints, which included issues regarding insufficient milk procurement prices, pervasive corruption in cooperative hiring practices, and the misuse of outsourcing for political appointments. In response, Gandhi promised to bring these issues to Parliament and expressed his willingness to support their protest actions.

Families of the victims of the Gambhira bridge tragedy, where over 20 individuals lost their lives, met with Rahul Gandhi to seek justice. Offering them his solidarity, Gandhi reaffirmed his commitment to justice and stated that the citizens of the country look to him for hope regarding fairness and rights.

In the inaugural session, Congress state president Amit Chavda remarked, “Corruption is widespread under the BJP government, causing suffering among the people. This initiative is not merely about training; it’s about empowering district and city presidents to address local issues and mobilize the populace. Our leader, Rahul Gandhi, has clearly instructed us: ‘Do not fear.’ We need to carry the people’s concerns from the streets to the Assembly.”

Mukul Wasnik, the AICC General Secretary and Gujarat in-charge, emphasized that the process of selecting district presidents under the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ was distinctive and visionary. “This training is crafted to reinforce the ideological base of each district leader. A robust organization will enable people to reclaim their rights and challenge the BJP in Gujarat.”

During the vote of thanks, Leader of Opposition Dr Tushar Chaudhary assured full support and accessibility of senior leadership to local units. “Whether at the booth level or district, we will be present wherever the party needs us.
