Gandhinagar, July 17 (NationPress) - The first online merit list for hostel admissions has been officially unveiled by Bhanu Babariya, Gujarat’s Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, alongside Minister of State Bhikhu Parmar. This list reveals that 16,597 students have been selected for the academic year 2025-26 across 161 hostels in the state.
The merit list, disclosed during a formal event in Gandhinagar, encompasses students from various categories, excluding applicants from the Science Group A.
Among the selected students, a total of 3,902 students -- comprising 2,231 boys and 1,671 girls -- have been allocated seats under the Scheduled Caste Welfare scheme across 80 hostels. Furthermore, 2,820 students (with 1,855 boys and 965 girls) have been accepted under the Developing Caste Welfare scheme for 58 hostels. The Samras Hostel Society has accommodated 9,875 students (including 5,322 boys and 4,553 girls) across 23 hostels.
