The Right to Information (RTI) framework in Gujarat is advancing towards enhanced digital transparency and expedited grievance resolution.
This declaration was made during the launch of three updated RTI booklets and a new podcast powered by artificial intelligence at a special event in Gandhinagar.
During the event, Soni emphasized the Commission’s digital evolution, noting that more than 250 significant judgments have been made accessible online via the newly redesigned official website.
This initiative aims to improve accessibility and transparency for applicants. He also highlighted that essential recommendations, including offering five-page RTI responses free of charge, allowing citizens to photograph information, and enabling data sharing through digital storage devices, have been enacted by the state government based on the Commission’s proposals.
The event also included the launch of audio podcasts, created with AI technology, to facilitate the public's understanding of RTI rights.
"Our goal is to ensure that the RTI process is reachable for all citizens through contemporary technology, including platforms like Facebook and YouTube," Soni stated.
Former Chief Information Commissioner Amrut Patel, who attended the event, praised the Commission's effectiveness, describing the eradication of case backlogs as a noteworthy accomplishment and a reflection of strong collaboration.
He pointed out how the integration of social media, digital tools, and prompt hearings has rendered the RTI system more responsive and significant for the populace.
