Gurugram, May 1 (NationPress) A man has been taken into custody for allegedly attacking his wife with a knife during a domestic altercation in Gurugram, as reported by the police on Thursday.
Authorities identified the suspect as Lalit Bhardwaj, who resides in Sector-16 A, Faridabad.
A woman lodged a complaint against her husband, who is employed at a Gurugram-based company, whereas he is currently out of work.
According to the victim, "On April 6, we had a dispute regarding our living arrangements in Gurugram versus his house in Faridabad. During this argument, he attacked me with a knife and fled the scene after threatening to kill me," she informed the police.
Based on her complaint, a case was filed under the applicable sections at Police Station Sector-5, Gurugram.
The police team from Police Station Sector-5, Gurugram, acted swiftly and apprehended the accused in Faridabad on Wednesday.
“The police also retrieved the knife used in the assault from the suspect's possession,” an official stated.
In a separate incident, the district police also apprehended two individuals involved in illegal liquor trade in Gurugram on Thursday.
The suspects have been identified as Deenbandhu from Uttar Pradesh and Rakesh Kumar Jha from Bihar.
“The police seized 13 bottles of illegal beer and 24 bottles of country-made liquor from them,” he added.
Furthermore, Gurugram Police have arrested a vehicle thief and recovered a scooter from his possession. The suspect, known as ‘Boby’ from Uttar Pradesh, was caught in Gandhi Nagar, Gurugram, on April 29, according to police.
The police received a complaint about vehicle theft on March 3, 2025, and a case was subsequently registered at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station under the relevant sections.
