Chandigarh, Oct 24 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi convened a review meeting on Friday to assess the arrangements for the upcoming two-month nationwide initiative, ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
This high-level discussion was prompted by communications from the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, along with the office of the Union Minister of Labour and Employment.
Rastogi directed officials to facilitate the enthusiastic involvement of all universities, colleges, technical institutions, and schools throughout Haryana in this significant national endeavor. The campaign will kick off with district-level ‘padyatras’ on October 31, coinciding with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, followed by a 10-day national padyatra from November 26 to December 6.
Led by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, this initiative aims to cultivate national unity, patriotism, and civic duty among the youth of India. It aspires to motivate young citizens to embrace the ethos of ‘Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat’, reflecting Sardar Patel’s lasting vision of a robust, unified nation.
The Chief Secretary highlighted the establishment of District Core Committees (DCCs) in every district to ensure meticulous planning, coordination, and implementation of the padyatras. Each committee, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, will comprise retired IAS officers, District Youth Officers, NSS Programme Officers, MY Bharat representatives, elected officials such as MPs and MLAs, and essential personnel from related departments.
The ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ is integral to the broader Viksit Bharat Padyatra initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation) in ‘Rashtranirman’ (nation-building). This campaign underscores the pivotal role of the Amrit Peedhi — the youth of the Amrit Kaal — in perpetuating Sardar Patel’s legacy of unity, integrity, and national strength.
Rastogi called upon all departments, institutions, and stakeholders to provide comprehensive support and collaborate effectively to guarantee that this nationwide celebration achieves resounding success.
