Chandigarh, Aug 11 (NationPress) A session of the High Powered Purchase Committee convened under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday, where purchase proposals and rate contracts totaling Rs 1,763 crore for various departments were sanctioned.
During the session, rates were finalized after negotiating with several bidders, leading to savings exceeding Rs 10 crore.
Present at this meeting were Energy Minister Anil Vij, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, and Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Chaudhary.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of all products and equipment, stressing that all projects should be completed within the designated timeframe.
He reiterated the government's commitment to delivering superior quality services to the public. The Chief Minister stated that the administration is dedicated to executing development projects on schedule and adhering to high standards through prudent financial management and a transparent procurement process.
Additionally, the meeting approved the acquisition of 29 new 52-seater buses and six mini-buses for the Police Department at a cost of Rs 12 crore to bolster law and order.
To enhance power supply, the acquisition of LT XLPE armoured cable and 20 KVA distribution transformers for Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam was sanctioned at a cost of Rs 234.19 crore.
The Chief Minister instructed that all electrical cables undergo tests in certified laboratories and mandated strict actions against any agency whose products fail to meet quality standards.
He stressed that safety norms must not be compromised in procuring electrical equipment and materials to guarantee both safety and durability.
The meeting also green-lighted a proposal to procure sanitary napkins for free distribution to girl students from Class VI to XII in government schools.
Furthermore, the committee underscored the necessity of modernizing equipment to enhance digital services and fortify e-governance.
To this end, approval was granted for a cloud server and storage capacity upgrade at a cost exceeding Rs 3.20 crore, which will further enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed in the delivery of government services across the state.
