Chandigarh, April 10 (NationPress) In a significant advancement for social welfare initiatives, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the direct transfer of Rs 1,665.25 crore into the bank accounts of beneficiaries across 18 distinct government schemes.
While addressing the media, the Chief Minister emphasized that in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, the double-engine government is dedicated to promoting women's empowerment and enhancing their economic status.
On this occasion, he revealed that the sixth installment of the 'Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi' scheme has been disbursed, providing Rs 203.28 crore to 9.68 lakh women beneficiaries. This brings the total distribution under this scheme to Rs 1,038.05 crore over six installments.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister mentioned that for the 2026-27 Budget, a provision of Rs 6,500 crore has been allocated for the scheme. He noted that under 15 social security pension schemes, Rs 1,144.55 crore has been transferred to 35.55 lakh beneficiaries, covering old-age pension, disability pension, and other welfare pensions.
The Chief Minister criticized the previous Congress administration, stating that pension disbursements were delayed for up to a year, often marred by corruption. He asserted that the current government has adopted a 'pro-active governance model' where eligibility is now automatically assessed via the Parivar Pehchan Patra database.
“This system has streamlined the process, allowing citizens to access benefits directly at their homes without the need for applications or office visits,” said CM Saini. Additionally, he mentioned that under the Dayalu Scheme, Rs 298.07 crore was allocated on Friday to support 7,875 families.
To date, Rs 2,118.23 crore has been disbursed to 56,223 families. “With today’s release, the total assistance has reached Rs 2,416.30 crore, benefiting 64,098 families,” he added.
In a bid to support farmers from Scheduled Castes, a subsidy of Rs 19.35 crore was announced for 645 farmers to purchase tractors, with each eligible farmer receiving a subsidy of Rs 3 lakh.
Following a tragic incident in Faridabad, where two firefighters from the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam (HKRN) lost their lives, the government has decided to offer immediate relief of Rs 30 lakh to each affected family. This includes Rs 10 lakh from the Haryana Parivar Suraksha Nyas and Rs 20 lakh from the CM Relief Fund. Furthermore, one family member from each household will be provided with a job under HKRN.
